Chargers Say Jim Harbaugh Gets $16M Per Year

According to several sources cited by Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk, the Chargers are reportedly paying new head coach Jim Harbaugh an average of $16 million annually.

According to Florio, Harbaugh's contract is anticipated to last five years, and if a deal is sealed, he will be owed $80 million.

The Bears selected the 60-year-old Harbaugh in the first round out of Michigan in 1987.

Before turning into a coach, he spent 14 years in the league as a player, starting with the Raiders.

In 2004 he was hired as head coach by San Diego, then in 2007 he accepted the same role at Stanford.

In 2007, Harbaugh was appointed head coach of the 49ers. In 2014, he was let go and appointed head coach of Michigan.

He guided the 49ers to a 44-19-1 (69.5%) record over his four years there, which included three postseason trips and an NFC Championship.

Harbaugh's teams at Michigan have an 85-25 (77.7 percent) record. This comprises three trips to the College Football Playoffs and a 2–6 bowl record.
