Barbie is stunned by Joker 2's first trailer's viewership.

Warner Bros. gets insane feedback in 24 hours for Joker: Folie à Deux's debut trailer. Preview viewing rivals Barbie, indicating great fan enthusiasm in the DC sequel.

Folie à Deux's first-day trailer has 167 million views across all platforms, surpassing Warner Bros.' billion-dollar, Oscar-winning fantasy comedy Barbie, according to Variety.

The article said Folie à Deux's debut trailer outperformed Barbie's in numbers and social engagements, making it Warner Bros.' strongest opening preview in years.

The Joker sequel's teaser was the top trending video on YouTube on Apr. 9 and has over 20.3 million views. The Greta Gerwig picture grossed $1.44 billion globally, so it may not match Barbie.

First teaser trailer for Folie à Deux showed Joaquin Phoenix's Arkham Asylum role and the Joker and Harley Quinn love story. The trailer surpassed 2024 blockbusters like Pixar's Inside Out 2, which had 157 million views,

and Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes (100 million views). With 365 million views in 24 hours, Marvel's Deadpool & Wolverine trailer is the most viewed ever.

Folie à Deux, directed by Todd Phillips, is the sequel to 2019's Joker, the highest-grossing R-rated film ever ($1.074 billion) and Phoenix's first Best Actor Oscar win.

Phoenix and Lady Gaga star in Folie à Deux alongside Zazie Beetz (Sophie Dumond) and Brendan Gleeson in an unspecified role.

Joker was supposed to be a solo. However, its record-breaking success led Warner Bros. and DC Studios to create Folie à Deux, which was far more expensive. The psychological thriller's musical nature has confused some DC fans before its release. Phillips said the sequel's soundtrack will make more sense.
